Perhaps you feel lonely in your relationship. Maybe you can’t shut off your busy mind. Or, you struggle to find a reason to get out of bed. At the root, you may have too much pain, and you just want to feel better.
This pain can be overwhelming and sometimes it may seem easier to avoid it altogether. But, you’ve already taken that path and know where it leads you: to more pain! Maybe you’ve tried different things to fix your problems, but they haven’t worked. Often, we don’t change until it hurts too much. If you are hurting and want to feel better, we’re here to help.
We want to support you on your journey to wholeness. Counseling is about you becoming more you. This may seem like a strange concept, but our attempts to cope with pain often result in us losing touch with valuable parts of ourselves. We want to help you get those parts back, so you can live your life fully. We might practice tools to cope with anxiety, develop communication techniques to improve your relationships, or learn how to move through your emotions so you are not controlled by them. We will work together to face your challenges and overcome them.
Our therapists work with adults, children, couples, and families. We have a variety of specialties including:
Let’s create the life you want, together.
Therapy is a journey that we take together. Our therapists are trained to support you through anything that you may be going through. You may feel like you are alone or don’t have the support that you need. It doesn’t have to be this way. Therapy is an opportunity for you to get the help that you need. Our therapists have a diverse set of experiences, education, and training to ensure that you are supported in a way that works for you.
Get the therapy you need in the way you want it. You can come in person to our cozy office in Sequim. You can talk on the phone with a therapist while you are walking outside in nature. Or, you can have an online therapy session via video from the comfort of your home. We want to make sure that you have options so that you can do what’s right for you.
All of our therapists are licensed to practice in Washington State. We have Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Psychologists. Find the one that is the best fit for you. Switch therapists any time!
We want to make sure that therapy is affordable for you. That is why we accept most insurances AND offer cash pay discounts if you don’t have or choose not to use your insurance. Here are some of the insurances we accept:
Cigna, Coordinated Care, First Choice Health, GEHA, LifeWise, Medicare, Medicaid, Molina, Optum, Premera, Regence, Sound Health, Tricare, and United Health Care. If you don’t see your insurance on this list, no worries. Contact us to find out if we can work with your insurance company.
No insurance? No problem. We offer counseling for a fee of $120 per session. You can pay easily via credit card or even use your FSA or HSA. If that is not affordable for you, contact us to find out about sliding scale options.
The short answer is that it doesn’t matter that much. We have marriage and family therapists, mental health counselors, social workers, and psychologists. Each has a separate education and license in Washington State. However, they are all trained to provide therapy.
The most important aspect to consider when choosing a therapist is how well you connect with your therapist and whether they are skilled at supporting you in the areas in which you need help. You can read our counselors’ bios and specialties to help you learn more about which counselor might be the best fit for you. All our therapists serve Sequim.
Just so you know, when most folks talk about seeing a therapist, counselor, or psychologist, they are talking more generally and often use these terms interchangeably to refer to the same thing. The same is true for counseling and therapy. They are the same. So, a therapist providing therapy is basically the same as saying a counselor providing counseling.
It is important to note that the term psychologist can be significant because psychologists often have more robust training. Some states allow psychologists to only have a master’s degree. However, in Washington State, you must have a doctoral degree in psychology to be considered a psychologist. Psychologists sometimes specialize in testing, while others focus on providing therapy. All of our psychologists offer therapy serving Sequim and some specialize in offering specialized testing.
