Caroline Witek graduated Summa Cum Laude with her doctoral and master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology from Florida Institute of Technology and received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from DePaul University. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the National Alliance for Eating Disorders in WPB, Florida where she provided outpatient individual and group therapy for adults struggling with eating disorders. She completed her APA-accredited doctoral internship at Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health, an outpatient community mental health setting.
Caroline has a range of clinical experience with clients whose presenting issues include eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, dissociative disorders, adjustment challenges, severe emotional dysregulation, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and other developmental differences. She placed special focus on recovery from childhood abuse in both treatment and research, with her dissertation titled Resilience to Post-Traumatic Stress Symptoms in Child Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse. Her background includes work with individuals of all ages, with an emphasis on the childhood to young adult range.
Caroline’s approach is client-centered and flexible, and treatment is customized to the client’s needs. She utilizes an eclectic therapeutic approach that draws from therapies including Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Experiential Therapy, play therapy, and other creative techniques. She also has experience with Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy, which she facilitated during her graduate training site on a 4,700-acre nature preserve.
