Jennifer Hornbeck, MSW, LSWAIC

I specialize in trauma treatment, LGBTQIA+ mental health therapy, and gender-affirming mental health therapy. I also have experience in helping individuals address a wide array of issues and concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma including PTSD, bipolar disorder, stress management, and relationship conflicts. In addition, I have worked as a social worker with children in foster care and their families, and with youth and adults in a community mental health setting.

I earned my master’s degree in social work, with an emphasis on social justice, from Seattle University. I am passionate about helping individuals on their journey of healing and wellness. As a social worker, I have considerable experience in meeting people where they are, both physically and emotionally or mentally. I utilize the person-in-environment theory, which emphasizes that one’s environment plays a crucial role in their mental health and overall well-being. As a social worker and a therapist, I have made a commitment to creating an anti-oppressive practice. This means that my approach to therapy values self-determination and empowerment while acknowledging the importance of intersectionality. I will do my best work to address the impact that implicit bias and privilege can have on a therapeutic relationship.
